In the mood for a room with a touch of the seventies? This retro wavy wallpaper features winding lines in rust orange, mustard yellow, green, navy blue, light blue and brick red. They run in pairs across a cream background, with colourful dots in between to keep the overall look playful.

While the pink version is soft and powdery, this one goes for contrast. Darker shades such as navy blue and green provide structure, while orange and yellow add warmth. That also makes it a great fit for an older child's room, who may already be ready to move on from pastels. And honestly, it works just as well in a landing or playroom.

Prefer something softer? Take a look at Playful Stripes in pink. Both versions are available in matte non-woven wallpaper, vinyl with a textile texture or peel & stick.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between this and Playful Stripes in pink?
The design is the same; only the colours differ. This version uses deeper, retro shades such as rust orange and navy blue. The pink version is softer, with powdery pastel tones.

Is this wallpaper also suitable for an older child?
Absolutely. The bold colours make it feel less like baby wallpaper and more like a deliberate interior choice. It works well for children who want their room to feel a little more individual.

How do I decorate a retro children's room with this wallpaper?
Choose furniture in warm wood or rattan and add one or two colours from the wallpaper, such as a mustard-yellow cushion or a green cabinet. This creates a cohesive look instead of a colour overload.

Can I use this wallpaper on one wall?
Yes, it works beautifully as an accent wall. The pattern really comes into its own behind a bed or in a play corner. Keep the other walls calm with a cream or light shade.

How many drops should I order?
Each drop is 50 cm wide and you choose the height yourself. Measure the width of your wall, add an extra 10 cm on both sides and divide by 50. If you have sloping walls or lots of windows, choose the classic roll.

Brand story
Atelier Florentine designs from a studio in Amsterdam, and every pattern starts there as a handmade drawing. In this version of Playful Stripes, you can see how strongly colour can transform a design. The same waves that are sweet and soft in pink suddenly feel bold and retro here. The studio loves playing with the balance between classic and unconventional, and this wallpaper is a beautiful example of that.
