Hooray, a little one was born! And that can of course be celebrated with a nice maternity gift!
Perhaps the new -baked parents have already made a nice list of what they would like to have, that is of course completely ideal! But if you also want to give something fun, there are plenty of other options.
What should you pay attention to at a good maternity gift:
- Take into account the taste of the new parents. If you have a completely different taste than the parents, this can often be an uncomfortable moment and it may be that your maternity gift will not be used at all. That would be a shame!
- Practical gifts are secretly quite popular. For example, it may not always be fun to give a pack of diapers, but the parents really benefit from that! But instead of a pack of diapers, you can of course also have a nice one baby blanket give that can be used. Or burp cloths (you never have enough!) Or a gift voucher where the new parents can choose something later. Practical gifts are never wrong!
- Choose a memorable maternity gift out. How nice would it be if in 5 years the little one still walks with that nice hug, a book that is always used in reading aloud, or still play with those wooden cars in a number of years or still have in the room for decoration? Choose a gift that you can store longer or are timeless.
- Rather a large more expensive gift than all small (unnecessary) small presents that often end up in the cupboard. Unless they are super practical of course;). For example, if you want to give a gift with a group of friends or a number of colleagues, it would of course be super fun if everyone did money together to give a larger gift. Usually this is much more appreciated than all loose gifts that everyone has often selected for their own taste and eventually ends up in the cupboard.
